My mom always used to say "You get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar."  I have carried that philosophy throughout my entire life.  That is why I treat every child student as if they were my own child and every adult student with respect and dignity.

As for my equine students I treat every pony in my care as if they were my own.  We at Dragonwyck love each pony like a family member, but expect them to respect us and provide us with a quiet and enjoyable ride.  Emphasis is on a safe, sound and responsive mount for your enjoyment.

  • Lessons

I offer lessons for the beginner child or small adult through local showing.  My expertise is in the hunter, jumper and eventing arenas.  I can come to your place and teach you to work with your horse or pony...or you may come and ride mine.

My philosophy is to teach horsemanship not just how to get on and go.  To be a true horseman you should know your horse inside and out.

If showing is your goal I will train you and then coach you as well.  If trail riding and/or owning your own horse or pony someday is your goal I would love to help you in your path as an equestrian.

Prices vary depending on age and goals.  Evening and weekends available at this time.  Call for prices and available times.

  • Trailering

Trailering is offered locally in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and Houston areas.  Thoroughbred sized 3-horse slant load Exiss trailer with tack room.  There is a stallion stall and a stall large enough for a small pony with foal at side.  Call for prices and contract.

Coaching is available for show days.  I can trailer you to the show, coach you through all your classes and get you home again.  Having a coach on show days allows you to relax and focus on your riding.  Don't sweat the small stuff...leave that to me.

Below is Arnie with a very young rider.

Not only do kids love cute ponies...they also love responsive ones that allow them to get off the lunge line quicker and riding on their own...makes them feel like real riders.  Good ponies make all the difference.  Pictured here is Caleb Meyers during his first time off the lead line riding Rainy, RosMel's Raindrops on Roses.
