The mares are the foundation of any breeding program. I was once advised by a successful breeder to buy the best mare I could get with the best bloodlines and conformation that I could afford and breed up from there. It is vital to make sound choices in the mare's lineage, conformation and temperament. You then choose your stallions based upon what you want to improve upon in your mare. But, you first have to have the bloodlines in the mare in which you want to build from. We feel the bloodlines we have chosen are amoung the best, having years of championships in halter as well as performance behind them. Pretty ponies are lovely, but pretty ponies which can perform and perform for children are worth their weight in gold.

1997 Grey Sect. B Welsh mare standing 13.2hands. Solara was born chestnut roan then turned grey. She has fourn white feet and a white face. Her doe-like pop eye and refined front flow nicely into her level top line and awesome hip and rear. Solara is a wonderful mom and produces ponies with bone, quality and true Welsh type. Her movement cannot be faulted and she is a joy to own and ride. Solara has had three foals, the last being our own stud Louie. We have given her a few years off to just be a pony.
ATTENTION: Solara has safely arrived at Casmaran Stud on a lease agreement to be bred to their wonderfully bred Eclipse. Sara Bloomer and I are very excited about this adventure and look forward to seeing what these two lovely ponies produce. Visit their web site at http://www.casmaranstud.com/ to view pictures of Eclipse.
UPDATE: A smashingly goregeous grey colt was born the summer of 2010. Solara is due this year, 2011, to Eclipse again and will be bred back to Glynhafan Razzberry Twist who is by the late GlanNant Cadence and out of GlanNant Cranberry. The 2010 colt is offered for sale and will make a wonderful herd sire or performance pony. Special consideration to show homes!

Above are the mares in New Jersey at Casmaran Stud. Solara is the one in the middle "feeling her oats!"

1998 is 12.1 1/2hh and a chestnut roan with flaxen mane. Rainy is very sweet and shares her babies with us. She is the epitome of the hunter pony with such lovely movement that when I saw her move I just had to have her! She is willing and obedient with the children and produces better than herself! Rainy is double Bristol Sun God and is superbly bred. Rainy has produced one gelding, Dragonwyck Hot Wheels by RosMel's Scarlet Emperor (see him on our sales page) and two dynamite fillies with her coloring both by our own Dragonwyck Bristol Illusion and another filly by Brookside Pink Magnum. We now own RosMel's Pixy Stix, and she is SUPER with chrome and movement to die for! Pixy Stix is in foal to Louie for an early 2012 foal. Check the Rainy fillies out on our Foals page.
Above is Garrett Meyers resting at his first show, Prospering Farms 2011, where he won 3rd in Leadline Walk, 1st in Leadline Walk/Trot and Walk/Trot Poles. He then got 2nd in the Pet Pony with her as well.
Above is Garrett and Rainy after their "cat nap."

Above Ann-Carlin is trotting Rainy during her weekly lesson.
Below is me riding Rainy. I am 5'4" and 120lbs and Rainy has no trouble taking me around the jump courses. She is a doll to ride and loves "her kids" which is evident whenever they bobble or get off, she nickers to them as if to say "Hey you're coming loose up there, be careful." She even does it for me and when someone is getting off a pony next to her.

Pirouette is a wonderfully put together mare with correct underpinning and ample reach and drive in her movement. Her kind pop eye is accentuated by her dun coloring. We are VERY excited about her 1st foal by our stallion Dragonwyck Bristol Illusion. Pirouette's filly, Dragonwyck Arabesque, is a bay roan and for sale for $2,500, negotiable to a proven show home.

Fairy Sprite is with us on lease and is in foal to our stallion Dragonwyck Bristol Illusion for a 2011 foal. We are SUPER excited about this cross and bringing forth some VERY OLD BLOODLINES into our breeding program. We have fallen in love with this gentle kind older mare. She is wonderful with the kids and extremely patient and packs them around wherever they wish to go. Fairy's son RosMel's Prince Charming, by Brookside Pink Magnum, was shown to year end high awards in WPCSA Adult Hunter in 2009. Given Louie's kind disposition, size and movement we are expecting this foal to follow suite but in a larger package!
NEW FLASH: We were graced with a gorgeous colt this spring by this outstanding mare! He is going to be a huge grey with a puppy dog personality and will make an outstanding performance or breeding prospect. We are retaining this colt at this time as this is an own grandson of GlanNant Tango expected to mature 14+hh.

Pixy Stix has been bred to Dragonwyck Bristol Illusion for a 2012 foal. She is now in our lesson program and just adores the children.
